5k run #2
I have started working on running 3 days a week instead of 4. I think it will allow me to recover a bit more. I'm not that regular of a runner yet to be able to run quite that often. I found that the Capital Striders training group has their first meeting on the 7th so we'll see if I can start joining their long runs on the weekend. I think it will help to have a group to run with now that my mileage is getting up over 6 miles. It gets kinda boring on your own. :-)
Ran a 5k in some light rain tonight. I think the run went well except for a moment when Dizzy the Pace Dog decided to go say hi to another dog in mid-stride. It wasn't pretty, but we're both fine and able to run. Shins hurt a bit, but nothing to bad and I could get them to hurt less by running with good form, so I was happy with that. We'll see how the long run goes this weekend. I'm excited to transition to longer distances than I have ever run.
