D calls this 'torture' - (22/84)

At least for tonight that is... it seems that the crunches at the end of our lower body workout are not her friend. :-)

Seriously though, the weather is getting warmer and we're starting to make some real progress on this whole workout thing. We're starting to see some results in both our weight and in how well we are both performing the exercises we are doing. I am noticing that D has a lot more balance on lunges and a lot more control over the weights than she did at the start of this whole thing. And that's a step in the right direction.

Tonight's workout started with dumbbell lunges. They may not build a lot of quad muscle fast, but I feel that they really help toward my running goals. I'm mixing some plyometrics into my taekwondo classes, so that gets the fast twitch leg muscles covered as well. For hamstrings we did my favorite full body lift, stiff leg deadlifts. I like how my whole body is tired but my hamstrings really feel it by the last rep. It works on my grip strength as well. For calves we stick with our old-school standby calf raises. These seem to round out the workout well. Then on to D's nemesis, crunches. Even though she says she's not good at them she is starting to do almost as many as I do and she's improving all the time. So there is progress being made there as well.

Weight report:
I didn't eat that well this week and it shows in my body fat %, but I did lose some weight so go figure. I think we're on the right track, we just have to keep following it.
Current weight: 192#
Current Body fat: 22%

See you on the roads folks!
Alex
