Good news and a run to celebrate! - (2 of 84)

I DID IT!!! I passed my taekwondo test and tonight I was promoted to 2nd Degree Black Belt (World TKD Federation/Kukkiwon). I may not be the best athlete in our school or be able to kick as high as others but I work really hard in every class to get better. I really love taekwondo and it is very humbling to get to this next level. Now I just have to work to be up to the rank.

I also went out for a two mile run after class. This is workout #2 of 84 for my 12 week training plan. I learned that confidence is important during your training runs just as it is during any race. I started out feeling pretty good, but after the first mile and slipping quite a few times my confidence was a bit shaken and so too was my running form. The last mile didn't go as well, but I got out there so I feel good that I didn't give up on running. I'm sure my form will come back in the following weeks as spring starts to arrive here in the midwest. Overall it was an ok run.

The picture above is me and my parents, they came to my belt promotion ceremony! It was really nice to have them there.

A word about my last post too. I'm going to post my current weight and body fat % each week on Monday. I'll hope to make that number go down over the next 3 months. We'll see how it goes. With all of you out there keeping me honest and giving me encouragement from your own workouts I'm sure I'll make it.

See you on the roads everyone!
Alex
