Hump day upper body lifting - (24/84)
So it's hump day and time for another workout! I'm kind of struggling with my schedule this week since tomorrow I leave for Texas to attend the National Collegiate Taekwondo Championships as a referee. I don't know if I'll be able to blog or workout while I am down there, but I am going to give it a try. I'll try to make sure and not miss a workout, but the tournament is guaranteed to be long days of effort. Refereeing for taekwondo is pretty vigorous activity on it's own. I'm a bit nervous for the weekend to be honest. I've never refereed at an event of this size before. I'm sure I'll learn a lot. I'll try to take some pictures as well to put in a gallery when I come back. I'm also planning on taking my running gear with. I'll do a run report if I get a chance to get out on the road. Now that I've noted this scheduling possibility, on to the workout report! We started today with bench press, which hasn't changed in effort or weight lately. Moving on to dumbbell flyes I think my form is getting better, but I haven't added any weight to them. For shoulders we're continuing with side raises and front raises. I feel like those are working, but I need to wait until moving up on effort on those. For the back I did 4 sets of dumbbell rows and 2 sets of deadlifts. My heartrate was up pretty high after that. Then I did dumbbell crossbody and dips for triceps. I really worked on upping the pace for those and felt that my effort level was closer to where I want it to be. Then I finished up the workout with incline curls. I feel like those really isolate my arms and end the workout on a high note.
Tomorrow it's packing and a quick run before heading out the door for Texas. I'll try to keep in touch while I am down there and post any pics I get taken. If not I'll write again on Sunday night!
See you on the roads folks!
Alex
