My legs are gonna hurt tomorrow!!! - (3/84)

Day 3 of 84 on the 12 week challenge! I'm still keeping up with the workouts and with blogging the whole thing. I'm trying to establish some consistency on this. We'll see how many people are reading along with me by the end. Stay tuned folks! This should get interesting. I dropped down to 21% body fat temporarily this morning! That was pretty exciting to see on the scale! I don't think it was a totally accurate measure of where I am, but it still shows progress. On to the workout report!

Today was lower body lifting. I started off with dumbbell lunges standing still for four sets, increasing weight each set. Then I did walking starter lunges for my two peak sets. Man those things tire you out! My quads and glutes will be screaming tomorrow I'm sure. I hope that it doesn't affect my planned cardio run tomorrow. We'll see. Then I moved on to stiff leg deadlifts for my hamstrings. Those were really fun to do! I haven't done that lift before. I feel like it really focused on my hamstrings though and had the added benefit of some grip strengthening to boot. I'm really happy how that turned out. Next it was on to calf raises with dumbbells in hand. By the 6th set (second of two peak sets) my calves were really starting to burn so I know the workout was a good one! Then I finished up with 6 sets of crunches with my legs up. Four sets of 10 and then two killer sets of 20! A total of 80 crunches that I couldn't have done in one set. I probably will throw in some oblique crunches or other ab work later, but I want to establish a base for a while so good ol' crunches will do for now.

That's it for today's workout report! It was a good workout overall, I really didn't feel like doing it but I have to report so I got it done. I'm glad now that it is finished. On to day #4 tomorrow folks! Now it's time for me to get some well earned rest.
