Run in the Rain - (16/84)

It's getting more and more like spring! Tonight was the perfect temperature for running. I ran 4 miles in preparation for running 10 this coming weekend. I need to ramp up my weeknight runs to make sure my mileage stays consistent from week to week. The humidity and cool temps (around 50° F) are my absolute favorite to run in.

I pushed the pace a bit from the beginning tonight. I just felt good at about an 8:30 pace. During my 3rd mile I ran in to a bit of traffic, both on the streets and on the sidewalk with other runners and walkers out. No big deal, but it did make me slow down a bit. After I slowed I kind of lost the pace and slowed down to allow my legs to cool down. My right ankle did start to hurt a bit when I changed pace, so I figured I should take it easy on that too. It's never gone this far before, so I need to give it time to adjust.

Here's the run summary:
Mile 1: 8:36
Mile 2: 8:28
Mile 3: 9:23
Mile 4: 10:00

Not a bad run for my first after the 8 miler. I think I'm doing ok to finish a half marathon. I got a letter from the race that said the course will close on a 14:00 pace so I think I can stay ahead of that for sure. That's about it for tonight, I think I'm going to head to bed. I have an early day tomorrow.

See you on the roads folks!
Alex
