A Setback? - (21/84)

Today feels like a setback. I ran a 10 mile run today and it was really windy! 40 mph regular winds with almost 50 mph gusts! Fortunately I ran upwind on the way out. I really feel like this is a test for me going toward the half marathon in getting past single digit miles. It was a really hard run and I had to walk quite a bit. But I feel ok that I managed to keep it around 12 minute miles even in the conditions that we had.

Still I can't help but feel that it is a setback. If not in fitness level, in confidence. I have listened to Steve Runner talking about doubts that surface in his mind during his training for Boston. But I don't know how to deal with these myself. It is hard to try and get past this mileage. So many feelings come up when I think about the half marathon. Nervousness sure. Some excitement about accomplishing something that I have never done. I am trying to make sure to keep these two feelings balanced out as I go toward race day. Does anyone out there have any advice for me? I'd love to hear what any of you have done to get through feelings like this.
