Lower body lifting day! - (36/84)
Another day, another pile of iron to face. I seem to have gotten back to exercising regularly after a one week funk of a sort. It's difficult to keep going sometimes, especially when work starts to get really busy. It's easy for that view of your life to distort everything else and throw all of your priorities out of whack. I'm determined not to let that happen and to keep the balance in my life. It's just too important to have this time to workout with my girlfriend and to continue working on being healthy. I wish I could extend this time to include friends and family, but that doesn't seem to be possible at the moment. Maybe in the future though. :-)Workout report:
Tonight was lower body lifting and I think we did a pretty good job getting this done! We started off with dumbbell lunges and then moved to walking lunges which I think really work on our stability and strength. I believe that this lift helps me to maintain good form in the latter stages of distance runs. For hamstrings I did stiff leg deadlifts again, I like the power strength move. I know I've said it before, but I just like how they work my whole leg structure and my core! Finally we did calf raises which you can really feel. Finishing up with 6 sets of crunches and we have a well rounded lower body workout!
We're in a bit of a lull right now, but that is bound to happen. We're just going to keep working through it and I'm sure we will learn a lot about ourselves and be better off on the other side of this challenge.
See you on the roads folks!
Alex
