Tougher than it looks - (34/84)
This working out stuff is thougher than it looks! This is always my failure point. I get about a month or so into my workout plan and then I start to have doubts. Excuses get easier and easier to make. This is where I hope I can get through this time. I had a bit of a failure today, I was signed up for the Loop the Lake run today but this morning it was 6° F with the windchill and my knee hurt a bit so I decided not to go on the run. I did redeem myself by making up my upper body lifting workout that I was scheduled to do last night and missed, but this still worries me. I don't want to start rationalizing my workout plan away. I need some form of work that I can do and isn't affected by anyone else. Work has been bad lately and it seems to weigh everything else down with it.My workout was pretty good. I started with bench press, which seems to have gotten more difficult with a few missed workouts. Then on to dumbbell flyes which went fine. After that I did side raises and front raises for the shoulders which felt fine. For back lifting I did dumbbell rows and deadlifts. I could feel a bit where my back was sore from stacking chairs at work though. :) For triceps I did extensions and dips, both favorites. And as always I finished up the workout with incline curls. I worked really hard and got the workout done quickly. It's good to have it done.
I really have to say that it's all of you out there that is keeping me going. The half marathon training and the situations at work are really making things hard, but having all of you out there reading is keeping me honest. So thank you to all of you; D, Jo, Adam from Florida, JWhit from Atlanta, Cory from Colorado, Darrin and anyone else I might have missed. You guys keep me going! I keep reading all of your blogs and podcasts and they give me the motivation to get off my butt.
Thanks everyone!
See you on the roads folks!
Alex

Keep it up. If it were easy then more would train and the rewards would not be so great. In a book about running the author talked about the race being the reward to the training and it was to be enjoyed. Keep working toward that reward.
