I've lost my mind... and I like it!

Well I've gone and done it. I've signed up for the North Face Endurance Challenge 50k. I know this will be tough looking at my training schedule, but I just love preparing for events! It gives me a reason to be out there and a great goal to achieve at the end. Just something for myself to prove that I can be tough when I want to be.

So training begins now! I ran two miles tonight (the first of many to come) and felt pretty good! I remember when that run around the block was tough. Now my heart rate only goes up to like 150 unless I really sprint. I enjoy looking back at old runs and remembering how I used to struggle. It is nice to see how far you have come.

What races do all of you out there have planned? Let me know, I'd love to hear about them. I'm planning on posting all of my training runs out here so you can follow along. I'll also have all of my training on buckeyeoutdoors.com. My username is yetiman and my log is public. Feel free to check it out and see how I'm doing!

Run summary:
Mile 1: 9:20
Mile 2: 9:06
.08: 0:37
Total: 19:04

See you on the roads everyone!
Alex

Thanks Maddy!

I'm a bit scared at the moment, but that's just the beginning of training. Good luck on your marathon! I'll be running with a team in the IMT Des Moines Half Marathon on the same day!

I'll have to check out that blog. I have heard Marathon Chris talk about it on her podcast. I'll see if I can join soon!

Thanks!
Alex
